How would you describe your shooting and editing style?
This is a great question to ask when searching for a wedding videographer. My films are highly cinematic and story based. This means emphasis will be placed on vows, letter readings, and toasts to make your wedding video personal to you, while still having an emotional and romantic feel.
How experienced are you as a filmmaker?
I started shooting weddings part time in 2015 and have since shot around 150 weddings across the southeast since.
Is drone footage included?
Drone footage of the venue is included, however, there are legal restraints with the FAA that prevent the use of drones near airports and military bases. I am licensed with the FAA to fly a drone commercially and I have to abide by these regulations. That being said, drone footage is captured more times than not, but I never guarantee it upfront.
I'm having a small wedding and only need 4-5 hours of coverage. Will you offer a custom package?
Due to limited Saturdays available, I don't offer customized packages for this, but I may be able to direct you to someone who can.
How long will it take to receive my film and how will it be delivered?
Most films take an average of 8 weeks following the wedding to deliver. However, during busier seasons I ask for 10-12 weeks for completion of all films. You will receive a downloadable link with all footage in your package.
My venue / church has very strict restrictions on videographers and photographers. Do you carry insurance and can I still book you?
Please check with your church or venue to see if they have strict guidelines for videographers and photographers. I have had to sign a few contracts with churches in the past and may have to refuse services in some cases. I do carry insurance for my company and can provide the needed paperwork to your venue manager.
How far are you willing to travel?
Willing and ready to travel just about anywhere!
I'm often uncomfortable in front of a camera, is video for me?
Absolutely! I know the feeling as much as anyone. I often shoot in the background and allow the photographer to do what they are best at by leading the couple with cues and posing when needed. When I need some movement for video I will step in and give some easy directions. Our goal is to give you cues that make you comfortable and relaxed just being together. Real moments and real emotion is what we're going for. On a side note, working alongside the photographer and not competing against them for shots is key for me. The best results and experience for you on your wedding day will come when photographers and videographers get along and work off of each other's creativity.
Can I choose what music is used in my film?
I understand a couple having a song in my mind that they would like to have in their wedding film. Music drives so much of the emotion of the film and its really important that it feels just right for the couple. However, it is illegal to use a musician's work for profit unless it is licensed with the artist. I pay a monthly fee to be a member of The Music Bed & Soundstripe, which are two sites that provide the highest quality, cinematic music for wedding films. Picking music is something I take responsibility over in order to make the film feel right for each couple.
Do you offer photography?
Photography is a skill that I have great respect for and those that do it. I have relationships with many local photographers that I could send you to!
What gear do you use?
I shoot on 3 of my own cameras (Sony FX3, Sony A7siii, Sony a6400 + gear owned by my second shooters). Top of the line lenses, audio gear, lights and stabilizers.
Is a second videographer included?
I cannot guarantee second shooter availability for every wedding due to their own busy schedules, but I do my best to have one at your wedding should the guest count be high, or the wedding has multiple locations.
How do we book?
Fill out the inquiry form on the next tab and I'll be back in touch within 24-48 hours for availability. Once we decide its a good fit and we're ready to move forward I will email a contract & link to pay the retainer fee and then you're all set until closer to the wedding!
